Body Pulled From Mattawoman Creek Where Military Man Went Missing In Maryland, Sheriff Says

A body has been recovered from the same Charles County creek a military man went missing more than a month ago, officials say.

Jamell LeeHeung II was first reported missing to US Navy Police at the Indian Head Base where he lives, on Saturday, Nov. 25, and Charles County Sheriff's Office detectives assumed the search days later as concerns arose regarding the 25-year-old father's safety.

On Wednesday, the sheriff's office was notified that the body of a man in Mattawoman Creek - about two miles away from where his car was found in the water near Slavins Dock in Indian Head - where he was last known to be.

The body has since been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy and determine the person's identity, according to the sheriff's office.

More information is expected to be released.
